This is the setup from my reel. It takes about 30 minutes, and after that GrokBot finds the news, makes the carousels and posts them for you.
You need: GrokBot (included with SuperGrok Plus or any paid Cursor plan), a free Buffer account, an Instagram Business or Creator account, and Claude for the design template.
Step 1: Download GrokBot
Get it from the App Store, Google Play, or x.ai/bot for Mac and Windows. Sign in with Cursor, or link your SuperGrok account. Do the setup on desktop, uploading files is easier there.
Step 2: Connect Instagram to Buffer
Sign up at buffer.com and add Instagram as a channel. If it won't connect, switch your Instagram to a professional account first (Settings, then Account type and tools). The free plan holds 10 scheduled posts per channel, which is enough because GrokBot refills it every day.
Step 3: Make your design template with Claude
Screenshot a carousel you like the look of. Paste it into Claude with this:
Recreate the design in this screenshot as a reusable Instagram carousel template. 1080x1350 slides, same fonts, colours and layout. Make the headline, body text and cover image easy to swap. Show me a sample cover slide and one content slide.
Fix anything that looks off in the same chat, then download the files.
Step 4: Set up GrokBot
Create a new bot (I called mine AI News Carousel), upload your template files and paste this in:
You run my Instagram page @yourhandle. Every day, search the web and X for AI news from the last 24 hours and pick the 8 topics people are talking about most. For each one, make a carousel with the template I uploaded: a cover slide with a short hook, 3 to 5 slides that explain it simply, and a last slide asking people to follow. Write the caption too. Post at 8am, 10am, 12pm, 2pm, 4pm, 6pm, 8pm and 10pm (my timezone). After you schedule each post, send me the time, topic and hook in one line.
Step 5: Connect GrokBot to Buffer
Send GrokBot this, and log in to Buffer when it asks:
Log in to my Buffer account and check you can see my Instagram channel. Then schedule one test post for 10 minutes from now.
When the test post shows up on your page, you're live.
Step 6: Let it run
Check the chat once a day. If a hook is weak or a topic is off, just tell it, like "make the hooks shorter" or "swap the 2pm post for something about Claude". Want a new look? Send Claude another screenshot and upload the new template.
Two tips: run 2 or 3 posts a day for the first week and read each one before it goes out. And don't give GrokBot logins for banking or work accounts, every bot on your account shares the same computer and sign-ins.
